Beginning in 2007, we began selling preowned model railroad rolling stock on eBay, mostly as a hobby venture. Our interest in the retail side of the hobby grew rapidly. The need for a larger shipping and receiving space required opening a bricks-and-mortar store in the summer of 2011. Our inventory was increased as we began to involve more and more manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors for purchasing factory fresh products. All went OK for three years but the reality of an ever shrinking model railroading customer base and other difficulties required the closing of Louisiana Railroad Company at the end of the second quarter of 2015.

We moved to a welcome place of refuge as we picked up the pieces of the debacle and attempted to maintain our eBay presence. The remainder of 2015 was quite difficult as we managed to somehow continue to list and sell without internet (such a rural area) and without money. There was zero income except for a few hundred dollars per month in gross sales. New Year's Eve brought the first installation of satellite internet service and New Years Day 2016 we were really back in business.

A half a dozen or so websites and expansion, downsizing, rural location issues, a pandemic and the related issues with supply and shipping have brought us to the LRC Model Railroading of 2023. We have a walk-in store which is more of a kiosk in another store. We do have excellent products, great suppliers and superb service behind the sale for model train enthusiasts all over the world. Domestic shipping reaches all 50 states and the District of Columbia, other U.S. protectorates and our armed forces via MPO's. Our international shipping has reached over fifteen countries.
